THE MASTER FAUX PAINTER. DAVID LUSK.
David Lusk is called the Michelangelo of faux painting. He treats a wall or a piece of furniture as his canvas and by the time he’s finished it’s a true work of art. His vivid designs and colors can light up any space.
Lusk is the owner of Ultimate Artworks, a business that has been in operation in the Houston area for more than 13 years. His client base includes professional athletes, entertainers and major business owners. Lusk has spun his faux magic on rooms as small as 4 ft. by 6 ft. and he has faux painted entire houses ranging up to 6,000 sq. ft.
"I consider myself to be versatile, accommodating and creative,” explains Lusk, who has a Bachelor’s of Art degree from the Art Institute of Houston. "When doing a clients home, I try to capture their individual style. It’s my interpretation of their personality.”
Lusk, who is self taught in the art of faux painting, does several styles including tissue-type,fatoge, torn paper, old world glazing, trompe l'oeil murals, crackles, marbling, veining, wax finished gilding, antiquing and much more. Very much in demand for his unique styles of faux painting, David Lusk is an artist whose works will be talked about for years to come.
